Happy Christmas!!
\As the final days of 2020 approach, I wanted to reflect on the changes a single year can bring. And, it has to be said, what a single year 2020 has been.
We are all grappling with what this Christmas will actually bring… How will we see our family and friends? Will businesses that depend on festive entertainment adapt and survive? Does the traditional trip to the pantomime – it’s behind you! – turn into a game of zoom charades between households?
For me personally, 2020 has brought an immense change in lifestyle, the chance to launch my own business, to learn a huge amount from some very clever people and to create some (hopefully) amazing children’s books! I am very lucky – both for the opportunity and because I work in one of the nicest industries there is. One thing I am certain will always continue is the passion and energy of the people who make up the children’s book world, and their willingness to help anyone who needs support.
So I wanted to say thank you to the people who have supported me this year by sending a little Christmas cheer to everyone who has worked hard to help Noodle Fuel get off the ground!
Borrowing the skills of the master baker and pastry chef, Claudia Mody, we created some wonderful Noodle Fuel branded biscuits using one of our books as inspiration. One production line later, Claudia had completed the biscuits, boxed them up for despatch and posted them. A rather worrying five days later (thank you, Royal Mail!), they finally arrived!
So, a little bit of sweetness to end, what has been for a lot of people, a rather ropey 2020 – it’s certainly been the most surreal year to experience! (And perhaps a publicity idea for Little Tiger when the book launches – although I’m not sure Claudia will thank me for that!)
